Laneway brings energy and community to the precinct
More than 35,000 music lovers rolled into Southport Sharks for Laneway Festival, transforming the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct into a vibrant hub of sound, culture and community.
For a precinct known for health, research and innovation, moments like this matter. They show another side of the place. One where people come together, not just to work or study, but to connect, experience and enjoy.
Hosted by Southport Sharks, the event brought a major cultural moment right into the heart of the precinct. From live music and energy across the grounds to the flow of thousands of people through the space, it was a reminder of how dynamic this environment has become.

What makes the precinct unique is exactly this mix. World-class infrastructure and research capability, sitting alongside spaces that support lifestyle, community and shared experiences.
As the Gold Coast continues to grow, creating places where people want to be is just as important as building places to work. Events like Laneway contribute to that, adding to the energy, identity and sense of connection across the precinct.
And importantly, they reinforce that this is more than a place for innovation. It’s a place for people.
A big well done to Southport Sharks for delivering an incredible event and bringing the precinct to life in a different way.
