Neuroendovascular training and technologies

Specialist clinicians at the Gold Coast University Hospital are working with expert designers at Griffith University’s Advanced Design and Prototyping Technologies Institute (ADaPT) to design and 3D print exact anatomical models for complex neurovascular procedures including repairing brain aneurysms and removing stroke blood clots. And they’re training specialists from Asia-Pacific in the latest techniques and technologies.

US-Based artificial heart company sets up international headquarters on the Gold Coast

BiVACOR, the US-based company behind the world’s first rotary artificial heart has located its international office into the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct where it will conduct final blood compatibility R&D with the world-class Griffith University Mechanobiology Research lab. The company hopes to implant its revolutionary device into the first patients within 2-5 years.

From Silicon Valley to the Gold Coast with a surgical laser solution

Silicon Valley-based medtech Precise Light Surgical has set up Asia Pacific headquarters in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. With broad regulatory approval across more than 80 surgical indications, the company hopes to revolutionise laser surgery with their precise surgical cutting device that minimises collateral damage and de-risks procedures.

3D Printing pioneers makes Australian base in the Precinct
