Year 10 students from QAHS pitch precision health solutions at Griffith University’s Change in Action Showcase 2025
The future of healthcare innovation was on full display at the 2025 Change in Action Showcase, held yesterday at Griffith University’s Gold Coast Campus.
This year’s theme, Precision Health and Technology, challenged Year 10 students from the Queensland Academies Health Sciences Campus (QAHS) to create personalised solutions for ageing Australians. The program, which runs each year in partnership with Griffith University, offers students a unique opportunity to explore real-world problems and pitch their ideas to industry experts.
In the lead-up to the Grand Final, students were mentored by academic leaders from Griffith’s Australian Centre for Precision Health and Technology (PRECISE). These mentors supported students throughout the term, offering guidance on innovation, data, and usability to shape their final ideas.
The event culminated in a public Grand Final Showcase, where the top three student teams presented their precision health solutions to a distinguished judging panel comprising leaders from health, academia, and industry, including representatives from Griffith University, Gold Coast Health, and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct (GCHKP).
GCHKP Marketing Manager Robyn Stonefield, who served as a judge, said it was an inspiring experience:
“It was amazing to see how passionate and creative these students are. They’re not just the next generation of leaders, they’re already thinking like innovators.”
From inclusive wearable devices to AI-powered diagnostic ideas, the Showcase highlighted the potential of cross-sector collaboration and early talent development.
Change in Action continues to grow each year as a standout collaboration between QAHS and Griffith, with strong alignment to the Precinct’s goals: building future-focused talent and strengthening the local innovation pipeline.
