From pioneering research and emerging technologies to new connections and collaborations, we opened our doors to Australian and international delegates attending AusBiotech 2026.
The weather held off, the conversations were flowing and there was plenty of excitement across the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct as we welcomed delegates for a behind-the-scenes look at our growing health and life sciences ecosystem.
With Australia’s biotechnology community gathering on the Gold Coast for AusBiotech 2026, it was the perfect opportunity to bring our precinct community together and showcase the incredible people, research and innovations helping transform lives through healthcare and technology.
And we had plenty to show off!
From cutting-edge biomedical research at Griffith University’s Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics to the innovative work underway at Project BioSpine and the Clinical Trial Unit, we gave delegates a behind-the-scenes look at the research, expertise and specialised facilities across our Precinct.
At Cohort Innovation Space, we introduced delegates to innovative companies including Southern RNA and BiVACOR, who shared their work in RNA manufacturing and artificial heart technology. We also showcased the NeuTex Image-Guided Surgery and Robotics Training Centre, offering a glimpse into the future of surgical training and healthcare innovation.
We wrapped up the morning with lunch and networking on the rooftop terrace at RDX Lumina, generously hosted by building owners Vital Healthcare Property Trust. Thankfully, the Gold Coast weather played along, providing the perfect backdrop for new conversations and connections.
More than just a tour
While the research, technology and facilities were impressive, one of the highlights for us was seeing our precinct community come together.
Our researchers stepped away from their labs, companies opened their doors and partners generously shared their time and expertise to give visitors a genuine insight into what makes this place special.
It’s a reminder that the strength of our Precinct isn’t just what’s happening within individual organisations, but what becomes possible when we work together.
And while we loved showing our visitors around, the real value of opportunities like this is what happens next: new relationships, fresh ideas and potential collaborations that can help turn research and innovation into real-world impact.
A huge thank you to AusBiotech and everyone across our precinct community who helped make the day possible.
